New commission: fantasy soccer

Two logos for a group who fantasise about kicking balls.

I won’t claim to have any idea what fantasy soccer is or how it works but I know lots of people enjoy it and that’s cool with me.

Using images of soccer players, their wacky hairstyles and off-pitch ‘antics’ is all well and good for your league(s) but it’s also nice to have your own brand identity somewhat. In this respect I was asked to provide a logo which could be used for a fantasy soccer group (link opens in new tab) and was happy to help.

Normally when I create a logo the standard practice is to provide the customer with a few versions from which they can – hopefully – choose one they prefer and then any further development can go on from there if required. In this case the customer liked two versions and rather than settle on one just had both. Fair enough!

Having two versions of a logo can actually be useful if you want to perhaps split a product or use them in different mediums; for example, one could be used on a website or for an overarching brand and another on a particular trophy or ceremonial blazer’s pocket. OK, I don’t actually know but there are two versions anyway and what they’re used for now is really up to them. The customer is happy so that’s all that matters.

I’ve constantly used the word ‘soccer’ here as I know it irritates some people. Sorry. Childish. I know.
